Second Work:space Plus is a success

Twelve people attended the second Work:space PLUS half day retreat in the beautiful surroundings of Holton Lee in November.  This time we offered one-to-one listening as well as group sessions, an optional workshop and space for quiet reflection.  For many this was their first Work:space retreat and they valued time out as well as meeting old and new friends.  One participant enjoyed “Having the quiet space just to be.”

Look out for dates for the next Work:space Plus events coming in 2013.

New work:space pioneer

Poole Missional Communities, the charity that oversees work:space in Poole, has recently appointed Elaine Arthur to further develop this resource for local workplaces. Elaine comes from a background in local government and has a breadth of experience in chaplaincy through her work with Fit Lives, a Christian ministry to customers and staff of leisure centres. We very much hope that Elaine will help deepen the resource we offer in the current contexts. We also hope that we can begin to offer work:space in new workplaces in Poole. If you would like to get in touch with Elaine about any aspect of the ministry of work:space please do so on elaine.arthur@workspace-poole.org.uk.

work:space RNLI moves to High St cafe

Poole Missional Communities, the parent charity that runs work:space, has started running a community cafe on Poole High St. Called No34. It is situated opposite the site of the old Woolworths at the heart of Poole twon centre (www.facebook.com/No34Cafe) . Before Easter work:space RNLI met there for one session and the suggestion emerged to make it a regular venue. As a result this work:space is now open to anyone who would like to come. We meet from 1.15 – 1.45pm in the lovely first floor lounge above the cafe itself. If you feel the need for some silence and stillness at the end of busy working week do join us.
